In April 2022, the Chinese Society of Radiology held a general election meeting. After recommendation, discussion and voting by members, Professor Shao Jianbo of Wuhan Children's Hospital was elected as the leader of the 16th Pediatric Group of the Chinese Society of Radiology, and the group leader of the 5th New Chinese Pediatric Radiology. The election of Professor Shao Jianbo was not only the highest academic honor of our hospital in the 68 years since the establishment, but also demonstrated the professional status of radiology of our hospital in China. This was not only his personal academic achievements, but also the affirmation of the development of Medical Imaging Department of our hospital by peers across the country.
The new committee of the 16th Pediatric Group of the Chinese Society of Radiology was established at the meeting, including 41 committee members, 13 senior members and 8 young members. Professor Ning Gang from West China Second Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Zhong Yumin from National Children's Medical Center and Shanghai Children's Medical Center Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Professor Yan Zhihan from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University and Yuying Children's Hospital, and Professor Zeng Hongwu from Shenzhen Children's Hospital were elected as deputy leaders of the Pediatric Group. Professor Peng Xuehua from Wuhan Children's Hospital served as the secretary of the Pediatric Group.
In addition, Professor Shao Jianbo proposed that Professor Li Xin, the former leader of the pediatric group and the president of Tianjin Second People's Hospital (former vice president of Tianjin Children's Hospital), could serve as the honorary head of the Pediatric Group; Professor Peng Yun, director of Imaging Center of National Children's Medical Center and Beijing Children's Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, and Professor Zhang Xiao 'an, President of Henan University of Science and Technology, could serve as senior deputy leaders; Professor Zhu Ming from Shanghai Children's Medical Center Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Professor Ye Binbin from the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Li Yuhua from Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and Professor Lai Can from Children's Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Professor Yin Chuangao from Anhui Children's Hospital, Professor Zhang Xiaofan from Harbin Children's Hospital Affiliated to Harbin Medical University, Professor Ma Rui from Shandong Provincial Hospital, Professor Shi Hao from Kunming Children's Hospital Affiliated to Kunming University, Professor Du Guizhi from Shandong Linyi Maternal and Childcare Hospital, and Professor Gui Dongchuan from the Fifth Division Hospital of Xinjiang Corps could serve as senior consultants of the Pediatric Group. The spirit and culture of the pediatric group will be inherited and developed together with the elderly, the middle-aged and the young engaged in pediatric imaging.
In early May, Shao Jianbo held the 1st National Committee Meeting of the 16th Pediatric Group of the Chinese Society of Radiology, initially making the work plan of the pediatric group in the next three years, and arranging the "National Conference of Pediatric Group of the Chinese Society of Radiology" next year and the year after. Meanwhile, the group will further strengthen international exchanges, big data and artificial intelligence research, medical and engineering collaboration; strengthen the education and training of young talents and key personnel, and standardize the construction of the demonstration base of National Standardized Residency Program for Radiology in pediatrics; and encourage multi-center cooperation and project exchanges, organize the writing of Consensus or Guidelines for pediatrics, host the Newsletter of Pediatric Group of Chinese Society of Radiology and the Monthly Film Reading of Pediatric Group of Chinese Society of Radiology, and write the Yearbook of Pediatric Group of Chinese Society of Radiology.
On August 1, the first issue of the Newsletter of Pediatric Group of Chinese Society of Radiology, sponsored by the Medical Imaging Center of Wuhan Children's Hospital and the Clinical Medical Imaging Research Center of Wuhan Children's Hospital, Tongji Medical College of HUST, was published. The wishes of Professor Liu Shiyuan, chairman of the Chinese Society of Radiology: "The Newsletter of Pediatric Group of Chinese Society of Radiology is a flower and a new bud in the garden of spiritual civilization of the pediatric group. I hope to make this seedling full of flowers and fruitful fruits by doing special work and meticulous work. I wish a better future for the Chinese Society of Radiology."
The first issue of Newsletter of Pediatric Group of Chinese Society of Radiology reviewed the feelings of people engaged in pediatric radiology in the past 34 years. displayed the brief development history of Radiology Group of Chinese Society of Radiology, and the demeanour of the winner of the Great Achievement Award for pediatric radiologists in China; narrated the love and exploration for pediatric imaging of Professor Yao Qinghua, the first leader of the Pediatric Group of Chinese Society of Radiology; reported the first issue of the Monthly Film Reading of Pediatric Group of Chinese Society of Radiology; reviewed the fetal MRI scan from standard to accurate in the three decades; and introduced Professor Guan Lifu and Professor Li Xin, the builders of pediatric radiology in China, and National Children's Medical Center (Imaging Center of Beijing Children's Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University and Shanghai Children's Medical Center affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine). The first issue also showed the profound historical accumulation and rich humanistic feelings of Pediatric Group of Chinese Society of Radiology.
The existing development of the Pediatric Group of Chinese Society of Radiology is the achievement of the joint efforts of generation after generation, the new generation of people engaged in pediatric radiology will inherit the glorious traditions of the older generation, give full play to the intelligence and wisdom of all people engaged in medical imaging, improve weak links, learn from the advanced pediatric technologies in the world, keep pace with the world's high-level pediatric team, continue to make high-quality innovation and development, and make due contributions to a healthy China.
